About
More Than Acceptances
Hi, I’m Rachel. Since 2017, I’ve mentored students in getting accepted to colleges like Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and U.C. Berkeley, many with significant scholarships. Most of the students I work with come from immigrant families.
Like many Chinese-American kids, I spent my weekends helping at our family's restaurant, going to Kumon, and attending Chinese school. When I applied to college, I knew grades were important, but I didn't know that colleges also look for curiosity, initiative, and a desire to help others. My goal is to translate U.S. admissions for families like mine.
Before starting this work, I hired early-career employees at two tech startups and a Fortune 500 company. My goal is not just to help students get into college, but also to help them feel confident about who they are and what they want to do. That confidence will help them succeed in college and find good jobs after graduation.
I also spend time helping first-generation, low-income students with college applications at no cost.
